Jacksonville’s growth continues to reshape Northeast Florida, with new mixed-use developments, waterfront destinations and community facilities driving investment across the region. But as stronger hurricanes, rising insurance costs and greater expectations for long-term building performance influence development decisions, resilience has become more than a design objective. It’s becoming a key factor in protecting long-term investments.
Recognizing those challenges, the city launched Resilient Jacksonville, a 50-year roadmap designed to strengthen infrastructure, protect community assets and guide development that can better withstand stronger storms and future hazards while supporting long-term economic growth. The initiative reinforces the importance of designing buildings that deliver lasting performance, durability and value.
